Unshelved is a “library-related”
comic strip written by Gene Ambaum and Bill Barnes http://www.unshelved.com/
It is good to start a full conference day to begin with laughter. Laughter is good for the soul and energizes an audience -- not to mention increasing oxygen levels that will keep us all alert for the morning sessions.
The natural volley of funnies between Gene and Bill provided a multitude of laughs. The following cartoon strips were included in their presentation. Autographed strips may be available on their website: www.unshelved.com.
Observations
and notes from the presentation:
·
You
can identify children’s librarians and children’s staff by the way the clap and
hop when they are excited.
·
Have
you ever noticed that there aren’t too many male children’s librarians? Wonder
why that is?
· Free
Book Talk sheets. The Unshelved Book Club, available via the website.
Library staff can print them out from the archives and use them to attract
young adults and others to the books.
·
